Though he was not able to be there himself, former UN secretary general and head of the Africa Progress Panel Kofi Annan sent his greetings to the participants of the VENRO conference "Partnership for the Poor" at its opening via video message.
He emphasized the importance ot the Africa-EU Partnership and painted out the crucial role of civil society in its implementation.
